We arrived in Zhangjiajie late Monday night and caught a taxi to the International Youth Hostel where we spent one night – it was very basic apparently soap, toilet paper, and towels are luxuries not included in the room price! The next day we caught a bus to the bus station and took a minibus…
After a 14 hour, slightly uncomfortable overnight train we arrived in Zhangye two nights ago. It was crazy to see how much the landscape varies throughout China.
Today after a slightly later start than we had hoped for, we headed out on a 2-3 hour bus ride to the town of Huashan where Mt. Huashan is located.
Last night we arrived in Xi’an around 11 pm and caught a cab to Han Tang Inn Hostel. Thank goodness for the luxury of having English speaking staff and a cell phone this trip since our cab driver had no idea where we were going. Once we arrived we both had I think by far…
Today we got back from our two days on the Jinshanling Wall.
Today we had breakfast at a place just down the street from our hutong where we came to realize how much we previously had been overcharged yesterday at the other place we went to. We had the most delicious pork dumpling soup, a donut, and some rice corn soup which they gave us by mistake…
After a hectic flurry to get ready to leave, two days ago Melissa and I arrived at the airport in Beijing!
Tomorrow we head out to Candidasa in hopes of finding some better beaches and some other things to entertain us.
Literally. I’m not allowed to fly until the pressure in my ear subsides or its going to burst and I’d prefer not to be deaf.
So I apologize for not updating this more but the last week has been super busy! And our place doesn’t have wifi ! Anyways as of today Peter and I are Padi certified for our open water dives!!!
Unfortunately Asia is still not being kind.
So on Saturday we arrived at Bingin Beach in Uluwatu. We spent the last two nights at Full Moon Guest House and had a gorgeous view of the ocean.
On Tuesday we arrived by flight into Bali and by suggestion of Galuh we went to Legian beach aka Double Sixx Beach ( no one seems to know it by Legian even though that’s the actual name haha ).
Well today is our last night in Jogjakarta. Tomorrow at 7:25 am we will be flying to Bali, where we will be staying is yet to be determined. Today we went to Borobudur and Prambanan temples.
On Monday we took a train to Bandung from Jakarta and spent a night there before continuing on by car to Pandangaran.
This morning we tried to book our flight to Pangandaran but silly us didn’t think about the fact that its Sunday. So nothing was open – Susi Air or any travel agencies – and now the plan is to go tomorrow morning and figure it out.
The Asian has arrived in Asia…. Well technically I did yesterday afternoon but the wifi has been a little iffy lately. I made a friend at the airport named Galuh, who is from here but studying in Kamloops.
Well I’m currently at the elephant bar in my hotel waiting for it to be time to go the airport.
Well my passport never came so I am spending my weekend in Phnom Penh ( guess my realistic Monday guess was right ). Hopefully hopefully come Monday they will actually have my passport since that’ll mark a week since its been sent (1-2 days my butt ) and then ill be Canada bound.
I’m trying to stay positive but it’s starting to feel like I’ll never get out of Phnom Penh ( yes I know I’m being dramatic but I’m bored and have been here for two weeks now straight and just over a week in times before. And we all know patience isn’t my strong suit ).
